Gift Choices

hello once again,

Today's task is to think of a gift or present that someone has chosen and given to you, or that you have chosen for someone else, recently.

What was the gift? Describe it and the circumstances it was given.

As a class we'll try to decide which gift choices are the most desirable.

Well, i've once thought of giving my cousin a plaster mould that i bought last year but ONLY, if she achieves 5As in her PSR exam. Results were out, n she got 4As n 1D for Science, which was also her favourite subject n she evn thought that the test was easy. Then, we requested for another review on her paper which is worth $150. Finally, the results turned out to be 5As! And she got her gift! ^_^

I was planning to give a sister of mine a book about chinese myths and folktales, since her birthday will be in just about two months away. Call me CRAZY but i prefer to plan things two steps earlier. If not then i might have to spoil her with RPG games. But then i have to plan on ANOTHER gift for her if she passes her PSR with flying colours. =_='

Gifts are a delicate thing. A good choice whould ensure lasting friendship; bad choices could prove fatal.

My sister had eyed two of my books, Holly and Penny, with envy ever since I chose them as my christmas present long ago. My sister had a collection of books in that particular series that any librarian would long for. When our parents had bought her one of the book in that series, other books from that series had been on her wishlist every christmas. You get the picture now, do you?

She dropped hints, asked and bargained with me for months before she finally gave up. I had always refused. I am no shard of ice. I guess I just liked the books more than her.

I was wrong.

For years now, the two books laid in the bottom of my dusty drawer my drawer while my sister read and read the other books from the series. As I grew older, I began to think about my selfish thinking. I asked myself: Who will give the books a better home?

Then, one day this year, when my sister was looking for the book 'Moonrise' in my drawer, I gathered my wits and pulled up the two 'treasures' that my sister had always wanted.

'Do you want them?' I asked.

My sister's eyes lit up as she smiled. 'Really?'

'Oui ou non?' I asked in french

'Oui! Oui!'

The books were battered and dusty after all these years, but she cradled the books as if they were solid gold.

She had forgotten to say thank you, but I knew she meant it.

My latest gift... A mobile case! I got it from my father yesterday. He just came back from Beijing so he bought me that. Since Sir Lance ask me to describe it, alright, i'll describe. It's a light green + purple 'crocs' phone case & it has little pink flowers on it. It's super cute & nice!
